Privacy Policy

Overview
FlowState ADHD is a free bionic reading tool that runs entirely in your web browser at flowstateadhd.com, developed by Frankly Studio. This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you use the site. The short version: your reading text never leaves your browser, we have no accounts, and we don't sell anything. We've tried to keep this as simple and readable as possible.
Your text stays in your browser
FlowState is a "static" website with no server of our own that receives your content. When you paste or type text, import a Word (.docx) or plain text (.txt) file, or load text from your clipboard, that text is processed entirely inside your browser on your own device. We never receive it, see it, or store it.
Your settings, style presets, and reading history are saved using your browser's own local storage, which lives on your device only. We cannot read it, and clearing your browser data removes it (see "Your choices" below).
Loading text from a web address (URL)
If you use the optional "From URL" feature, the web address you enter is sent to a third-party reading service so it can fetch that page's text and return it to your browser. (Browsers block sites from fetching other websites directly, so a helper service is required.) Depending on availability, we use one of: Jina Reader, AllOrigins, or corsproxy.io. Only the URL you type is shared with these services, never the rest of your text. If you'd rather not use them, simply copy and paste the text instead.
Text-to-speech (Read aloud)
The "Read aloud" feature uses your browser and operating system's built-in speech engine. The text is spoken on your device. We do not record or transmit any audio, and the site does not use your microphone.
Export as PDF & download for Kindle
"Export as PDF" uses your browser's own print-to-PDF function. The file is created on your device and never uploaded. "Send to Kindle" generates a formatted HTML file and downloads it to your device so you can email it to your own Kindle address. We never see the file, your Kindle address, or that email.
Hosting
The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, Cloudflare may automatically process basic technical information needed to serve the page (such as your IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. This is standard server activity and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics
To understand how the site is used so we can improve it, we use two analytics tools. Neither is used for advertising, and we never sell your data.
- Microsoft Clarity: shows us anonymised, aggregated usage, along with heatmaps and session replays of how people interact with the page. Clarity masks on-screen text by default, so the content you paste in to read is not captured. Data is processed by Microsoft. See privacy.microsoft.com.
- Google Analytics: shows us anonymised usage such as pages viewed, session length, and approximate location (country or city level). Data is processed by Google. See policies.google.com/privacy.
These tools set cookies and may collect your IP address and browser or device information to measure site usage. You can opt out at any time using your browser's cookie controls, private browsing mode, or an analytics-blocking extension.
Cookies
The analytics tools above set cookies to measure how the site is used. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites. Separately, we use your browser's local storage (not a cookie) to remember your reading settings on your own device. You can clear both cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings.
Data we do not collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any text you paste, type, or import
- We do not require an account, name, or email to use the tool
- We do not take payments and there is nothing to buy
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising
Your choices
Because everything is stored locally in your browser, you are in full control. To remove your saved settings, presets, and reading history, clear this site's data in your browser settings (or use your browser's "clear browsing data" option). This deletes everything FlowState has stored on your device immediately.
Children's Privacy
FlowState ADHD is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the tool does not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to delete, but if you have any concerns please contact us.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar data protection laws, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data. As FlowState collects no personal data and stores everything locally on your device, most requests can be resolved by clearing your browser data. For anything else, contact us below.
Third Party Links
This site may contain links to external websites (for example, the organisations on our Resources page). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies separately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
